Holga
Another of my red tinted photos. I wish I knew how many photos I've taken when staring outside the airplane window in my life cause I'm sure it's bordering on the ridiculous levels. But I just can't help myself. One day I think I'll create a book of all the pictures I take of the same thing over and over (which is totally the definition of insanity right?).
Obsessions
I'm so super behind this week. I'm working on this test I have to take for work and it has seemed to suck up a lot of my time. I even got the brand new PJ book that is totally resting on my bookshelf mocking me for not paying attention to it (it has company with my ball of yarn, stack of library books, and unread e-mails). However, this weekend I plan on wine tasting (a lot) so really it'll all be worth it.
So, I haven't been obsessed with a lot lately, but here's the things I plan on becoming obsessed with next week:
Felicity - Melissa over at Press Play tweeted the other day that Felicity was streaming on demand for Netflix. I may have actually gasped out loud. My friends and I were obsessed with Felicity when I was in undergrad. I think it had something to do with the fact that Felicity started going to college the same year I did and she also had a lot of sweaters. I've had the disks in my DVD queue waiting for them to come back in stock for months but now that it's available streaming, I'm pretty sure I'll finish the series in like a week. I won't be able to help myself. (I also may have typed up a laundry list of things just short of moving across country in order to pursue a boy. That included things like watching SportsCenter, taking up running, and straightening my hair but I'll save that for a future post)
(PS - I have a sinking suspicion that I talk way to much about TV and such around here. And I feel you all may be getting the wrong impression about me. I do have a life that doesn't revolve around my TV - I promise. And yes, maybe most of the rest of my life involves wine and food, with the occasional dance party, but still that's totally a life).
That's what I'm hoping to become obsessed with next week. How about you? What are you obsessed with? Anyone else read the Pearl Jam book yet? Are you a lover of all things Felicity? Please share in my obsessions or give me something new to obsess with in the hopes to prove I have a life that doesn't revolve around TV shows.

I was obsessed with Felicity. I even made a Felicity style tape (yes cassette tape) to a friend who lived in Australia.
ok, I'm not sure if I've admitted this to you or not but I've not ever seen an episode of Felicity. But I saw yesterday it's streaming now and I plan to start watching. I would have started last night but I found buffy instead. and I can't turn down buffy kickin vampire ass
I used to love Felicity as well - except for the last season when things got all weird. My university show was The O.C. it ran from my first year to my fourth and final year - so basically I watched it my entire undergrad. It sucked near the end too, but I stayed loyal.
Hmmm...obsessions...none that I can think of this week other than obsessing over when my boyfriend is finally going to come home from working for two weeks out of town. That is a sad and extremely anti-feminist obsession, I know.
I look a lot of photos outside the window of my plane when I came home from England.
I loved Felicity too! I was set on moving to NYC for college until I realized I couldn't afford it :(. Right now I'm obssesively reading the girl with the dragon tattoo series of books, so good! The weather has finally cooled off so I'm hoping to do some outdoor activities soon, those may or may not involve Oktoberfest drinking...
I never got into Felicity. I don't think you're too into TV! I've mostly just been mourning the end of yet another True Blood season. Ah...only 9 months til next season...
my college show was dawson's creek. that's pretty sad and i can't believe i just typed that. and i always wanted felicity to end up with noel - apparently i'm still bitter about that since i just thought about it and its been 10 years. sigh. what great shows.
and you might want to try reading 'just kids' by patti smith. i think you might like it, especially with your interest in rock. i really enjoyed it. it's no glass castle but it's definitely interesting.
good luck on your test!
I always wanted to watch felicity but we didn't get the channel. I love your obsessions. I've been stocking up on books from library like they are going out of style.
I don't think I've ever seen one episode of Felicity before. But I don't think I'm their target audience either. One show that I have gotten obssessed with on Netflix is the Cosby Show. I've been working my way through all the seasons and I am now on Season five. It's interesting to go back to a show that you grew up with and see it again. Puts things into a new perspective.
I too am cautious about showing my Glee love yet...then I saw a preview with Quinn with pink hair and I swooned a bit.
LOL Miranda, you kill me. I only wish I had Netflix to enjoy this. I actually saw all the seasons at 19.99 at Best Buy the other day and nearly fainted. It was like 2 days after I came home from Greece & I couldn't afford them so I had to pass them up... I still hate myself for it. I was also like, 10? When the series was on, so I have no idea why I'm obsessed with it. I have a sneaking suspicion it has to do with the fact that Felicity and I both have curly hair. Who knows!
i've never seen felicity. my go-to tv show was the x-files. david duchovny, hummanah-hummanah (or however you spell it) ... in college i played the sims and pirated from napster. then i kinda started watching wrestling - the wwf/wwe kind. what i *do* watch kinda sorta now is house & eureka. and project runway. but usually all at once, as i've gotten rid of cable and watch everything online. 3 eps of PR while working on etsy stuff saturday!! i've also never seen glee.
did you get to your pj book? tori's new album releases tuesday - i'm gonna d/l it from itunes & get the dvd/cd combo from amazon. epic fangirl ---> me
@CeCe - I love that! I so wanted to do the same thing, but most of my friends were local.
@Crymson - Yay! Now if we can get you into the Vampire Diaries, I'll consider you completely brainwashed by me! ;)
@Allison - Oh how I loved The O.C. in the beginning. I remember when a commercial premiered during the finale of american idol one year and my friend and I just looked at each other and were like, we must watch that.
@Brandi - I read the first Dragon Girl tattoo book and have the others that are on my shelf. That new movie kind of looks great so I can't wait to catch that either. And Ocktoberfest for the win!!!
@Jessica - Did you love the new season on True Blood? I'm still a season behind!!
@Tracy - OK since I kind of am reading stalking you I'm super excited to read that! And yes to Dawson's Creek. However, I am truly a Ben girl on Felicity. The minute he cut his hair, I was sold. Haha!
@keishua - Man, you and I both. I don't know how this always happens but it seems like all my library books arrive all at once and then I have a mild panic attack worrying about reading them all. ;)
@Steve - That's such a cool idea! I wonder what I'd think if I started watching the Cosby show now....I might have to try it.
@JA - I have to say, Glee was much better than I thought. I mean I'm going to have to style my next (and first) tattoo on Ryan Seacrest now.
@ILIAD - Haha! Thanks for the inspiration! And yes, I think the curly hair helps a bit for me too.
@Amanda - I used to love watching The X-Files even though I usually didn't understand what was going on. I will definitely have to re-watch it. And I hear good things about Eureka, it has Felicia Day on it and she's all sorts of cool. PS - Project Runway for the win!
